FIRE AND WIND REVIVAL

Come hungry. Leave burning. Be the wind-carried flame.

Every Word of God Proves True

“Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.” – Prov 30:5 (ESV)

Agur’s declaration is a claim of perfect reliability: every word — not most, not the clearly historical parts, not the theologically uncontroversial sections — every word of God proves true. The Hebrew tsaraph means refined, tested, proven pure like metal through fire. God’s Word has been tested by centuries of human experience, intellectual challenge, and historical scrutiny — and it remains. The connection to being a shield is not accidental: a person who trusts the reliability of God’s Word is a person who has found a defense that holds against every assault of doubt, deception, and despair. Confidence in Scripture is not intellectual naivety; it is the most well-tested confidence available to any human being.

Reflection:

Is there a part of God’s Word you struggle to trust — a promise that seems too good, a command that seems too demanding, a doctrine that seems too difficult?

What would it look like to bring that specific struggle to God honestly?

Prayer:

Lord, every word of Your Word is proven true. Where I struggle to trust specific parts of Scripture, I bring that struggle to You honestly. Strengthen my confidence in the reliability of everything You have said. Be my shield. Amen.
