You Have Need of Endurance

“For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.” – Heb 10:36 (ESV)

The author is bluntly honest: you have need of endurance. This is not optional equipment for the unusually tested — it is a universal necessity for every believer who intends to receive what is promised. The structure is important: endurance comes after doing the will of God, not instead of it. We do not endure passively — we endure while doing. Obedience and endurance are running simultaneously. The promise is the motivating horizon: what God has promised is worth every mile of the difficult road. The Christian who quits just before the promise is fulfilled is the greatest tragedy — not because they lose the prize but because they trusted God’s character long enough to obey and then stopped trusting just before He proved faithful.

Is there a promise of God you are close to giving up on — an area where you have done the will of God faithfully but the fulfillment seems delayed?

What would one more day of endurance look like?

Prayer:

Father, I will not quit. I have done Your will in this area and I am still waiting for the promise. I choose endurance today — trusting that Your fulfillment is coming and that I will not regret staying. Amen.
