FIRE AND WIND REVIVAL

Come hungry. Leave burning. Be the wind-carried flame.

Enter with Thanksgiving

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!” – Ps 100:4 (ESV)

Psalm 100 gives the posture of approach to God: thanksgiving at the gates, praise in the courts. We do not enter God’s presence neutrally or anxiously — we enter with thanksgiving as our covering and praise as our atmosphere. This is not a formula for manipulating God’s mood; it is a description of what happens when we remember who we are approaching and what He has done. A heart that enters prayer with genuine thanksgiving is a heart that has already reoriented from self to God before the first request is made. The requests that follow a grateful entry are shaped differently — they are requests made by someone who already trusts the goodness of the One they are asking.

Reflection:

What is your posture as you enter God’s presence in prayer — do you come with thanksgiving at the gates, or do you arrive with your list of needs and concerns before gratitude has had any space?

Prayer:

Lord, I enter Your gates with thanksgiving today. Before my requests, before my concerns, before my needs — I come with thanks. You are good, You are worthy, You have been faithful. Now I bring my heart into Your courts. Amen.
