“I wait for your salvation, O Lord.” – Gen 49:18 (ESV)
This is the shortest prayer in the Bible — seven words in English, three in Hebrew. Jacob speaks it in his dying blessing over his sons, in a moment of profound transition and uncertainty. He does not wait for a particular outcome or a specific arrangement of circumstances — he waits for God’s salvation, which may arrive in forms he cannot anticipate or control. This prayer is available to every believer in every season because it asks for nothing specific except the presence of a saving God. When we do not know what to pray, when the situation is too complex for specific requests, when the future is too uncertain for detailed petitions — this prayer remains. I wait for Your salvation, O Lord. It is enough.

Is there a situation in your life too complex or too uncertain for specific prayer — where the only honest prayer is ‘I wait for Your salvation, O Lord’?
Can you release it fully into those seven words today?
Prayer:
I wait for Your salvation, O Lord. I do not know what it will look like. I do not know when it will come. I only know that You save — and I am waiting for You to do what only You can do. Amen.
