“Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!” – Ps 31:24 (ESV)
David commands both strength and courage — and addresses them to those who are waiting. Waiting is the context in which perseverance is most severely tested. Active crisis demands action; waiting demands something harder — sustained trust with nothing new to do. The strength David commands is not self-generated confidence but the firm stance of one who knows God is working even in the silence. Courage of heart is different from courage of action — it is the inward resolve that does not collapse under the weight of an unanswered prayer or an unfulfilled promise. All who wait for the Lord are called to this double-posture: strength in the stance, courage in the heart.

Lord, I wait for You. I choose strength in my stance and courage in my heart — not because I see the answer but because I know the Answerer. Sustain me in the waiting. Amen.
