“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” – Gal 6:9 (ESV)
Paul uses the agricultural image of harvest with pastoral genius. There is a season of planting and a season of reaping, and they are not the same season. The farmer who plows, sows, and waters but gives up the day before harvest misses the entire point of all that labor. ‘In due season’ — God’s season, not ours — the harvest comes. The only condition attached to the promise of harvest is ‘if we do not give up.’ Not if we perform perfectly, not if we pray eloquently, not if we are particularly gifted — simply: do not give up. That is the one requirement. Many believers are standing in their fields one day from harvest, ready to walk away.

Is there an area of faithful, patient obedience where you have been planting and watering with no visible harvest?
What would one more season of faithfulness look like before you consider walking away?
Prayer:
Father, I will not give up. I trust Your timing for the harvest. I will keep planting, keep watering, keep believing — knowing that in due season, if I do not quit, the harvest will come. Amen.
