Come hungry. Leave burning. Be the wind-carried flame.

Call to Me

“Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” – Jer 33:3 (ESV)

God issues this invitation to Jeremiah while he is confined in a prison courtyard — surrounded by siege, destruction, and apparent hopelessness. Into that context, God says: call to Me. His promise is twofold: He will answer, and He will reveal great and hidden things beyond what human wisdom can access. The Hebrew word for ‘hidden’ (batsar) means inaccessible, cut off from human reach — things that cannot be discovered by research or experience alone. Prayer is not merely petition; it is the channel through which God communicates revelation, wisdom, and insight to His people. The person who does not pray cuts themselves off from an entire dimension of divine communication. The most practically wise person is the most consistently prayerful one.

Reflection:

Are you bringing your most difficult problems and questions to God in prayer, expecting Him to reveal what you cannot figure out on your own?

What hidden thing do you most need God to show you right now?

Prayer:

Father, I call to You from my own kind of confined place. Answer me. Show me the great and hidden things I cannot see on my own — about my situation, about Your purposes, about myself. I am listening. Amen.
