“And you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.” – Matt 10:22 (ESV)
Jesus does not soften the cost of discipleship — He states it plainly: you will be hated. The reason is His name. This is not hatred earned by obnoxious behavior or poor relational skill; it is the inevitable response of a world that rejected Jesus to the people who bear His name. The promise is not given to those who begin the race but to those who endure to the end. This is not teaching salvation by endurance — it is describing endurance as the mark of genuine salvation. The one who truly belongs to Christ will not ultimately give up Christ, because the Spirit who regenerated them sustains them to the finish.

Is your faith the kind that endures through rejection, misunderstanding, and cost — or is it comfortable-circumstances faith that has not yet been seriously tested?
