FIRE AND WIND REVIVAL

Come hungry. Leave burning. Be the wind-carried flame.

Welcomed as God’s Children

“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”
John 1:12 (ESV)

The gospel is not merely an invitation to forgiveness—it is an invitation into a family. John declares that those who receive Jesus and believe in His name are given the right to become children of God. This is not earned by effort, morality, or religious background, but granted by grace through faith.

To “receive” Christ is to welcome Him fully—trusting who He is and surrendering to what He has done. Faith is not intellectual agreement alone; it is personal reliance on Jesus as Savior and Lord. When we believe, God does something astonishing: He adopts us. We are no longer spiritual outsiders or distant servants, but beloved sons and daughters.

Being God’s child reshapes our identity. Our worth is no longer measured by performance, approval, or comparison. We belong to the Father, are cared for by Him, and are secure in His love. Even when we fail, our status does not change. Discipline may come, but rejection never does.

This truth invites us to live with confidence and humility—confidence because we are fully accepted, and humility because our adoption is entirely a gift of grace.

Reflection:

  • Do you relate to God as a distant authority or as a loving Father?
  • How might your prayers and daily trust change if you lived more fully in your identity as His child?

Prayer:

Father, thank You for welcoming me into Your family through faith in Jesus. Help me to live as Your child—secure in Your love and obedient from the heart. Teach me to trust You more deeply and reflect Your character in my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
